Having The Conversation
It isn't always easy to discuss end-of-life issues with our loved ones. When I added my personal details in the "DEATH & DYING, A Good Exit Plan" manual, I now had a framework to have the conversation with my son. My last wishes are clear. The tasks that Chris needs to accomplish-and all the pertinent details-are in one place. In addition, personal and financial details are available in an easy to follow format.

My Neighbor's Death
When my neighbor Laurel died, her family was overwhelmed with grief. Her son-who was in charge of all the practical details-was particularly stricken. As he and other family members were clearing Laurel's home, I would bring meals and offer to help in any way that I could. Imagine how gratified I felt when I received this response from Laurel's son:
"Thank you for your offer of help. Mom made everything so easy for us. She filled out 'Death & Dying, A Good Exit Plan.' Everything we need to do and everything we need to know is right here."
